IND EX^® Safety Congress 2013 | Nuremberg, Germany - the review

A wide range of high calibre international delegates from the fields of science and industries benefited greatly from the 3rd IND EX^® Safety Congress (ISC) on industrial explosion protection at the Nuremberg Convention Center. A total of 80 participants from North and South America, Australia and Europe met on 24th and 25th April at the congress which took part during the POWTECH exhibition. The programme featured numerous internationally renowned EXperts in explosion safety, as well as live explosion demonstrations.

A welcome note by IND EX^® president Stefan Penno was followed by Prof. Dr. Dr. habil. Bert Reichert‘s (Nuremberg hospital for burn traumas, Germany) keynote speech on burn and explosion traumas to the human body as fatal consequences of insufficient safety concepts. The ISC comprised both scientific papers with the latest input on breakthroughs in R&D work and new developments in technical solutions and products. Each presentation was followed by lively discussions, which proved a perfect platform not only for the exchange of ideas and experiences, but also for networking. The new IND EX research project, Determination of flame arresting capability of flange connections in vessels in order to verify how flame-propagation-proof various bolt patterns flange configurations are, was also presented at the Safety Congress.

IND EX^® Safety Symposia in autumn 2013

This year’s IND EX^® Safety Symposia will take place in September (Poland) and October (India, Brazil and Thailand). During these one-day events, the fundamental principles of explosion protection as well as more specialist aspects are discussed.
