The production of first-class flavors for the food industry and the safety of our employees requires a high level of hygiene and protection. That is why Silesia stands apart from many other companies represented here with regard to explosion protection. We are not researchers, service providers or manufacturers in this field, but users and operators. Flammable liquids and powders are used as flavoring components and carriers in our products, so we have to take into account the possibility of creating hazardous explosive atmospheres.
Our goal is to avoid the formation of explosive atmospheres outside of our machinery, containers and canisters, and to minimize their extent. Therefore, primary explosion protection plays a very important role in our facilities. Another important part of our precautionary measures is secondary explosion protection. In areas where the formation of dangerous explosive atmospheres can’t be avoided, suitable measures to avoid ignition sources are applied. We are also occasionally dependent on tertiary explosion protection when necessary.
As a member of IND EX® we keep up to date with safety standards in explosion protection. With our measures and the practical implementation at our various production sites around the world, we gain know-how that helps to establish international guidelines for explosion protection.
